Have you noticed how much trouble you had to go through to get here tonight? When I was little like Josiah, plans went so smoothly, beacuse I had no responsibilities or commitments to conflict with anything that came up. Scheduling is easy within that context. Now that you are in your last year of high school, have you noticed more frequent conflicts with your plans? What would you be doing right now, supposing you were not here on this retreat with me? Working? Hanging out with other friends? You are here because this was a priority to you, and you took certain steps to assure you got here.
Why is it important to Keep moving toward your end purposes?
Perseverance:
Someone said that a hose stays clean if the water is flowing, if the water stops, the hose can get dirty. Be in the world, but not of it. Your relationship with God will not continue in the same direction if you turn your focus on other things at God’s expense. Keep on moving.
