What is the benefit of a clear mind?
What does it mean to have a clear mind?
What else do you think of as clear? (Water, Air, cellophane tape, windows…)
What keeps water from being clear?
Do you allow 'dirt' to get into your mind?
What things can cloud your mind (or distract you from staying inline with God)?
"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. "
-1 Peter 4:7
If you are not self controlled, what are you allowing to control you?
Is focus needed for prayer? Do you have difficulty focusing long enough to pray even a simple prayer?
Remove distractions long enough to pray, and progress with God is possible. Don't let failures turn into fate. Call on God toward a renewed relationship- pick up your relationship as though new each time you pray. Get out of the cycle of despair and give God the control, then obey His commands with renewed strength. Then tell others what He has done for you. Encourage each other with news that God is still changing lives, for those who will follow Him now. Excercise faith by living in it.
