Discussion: worth

With Wisdom, comes responsibility…

Have you met someone who seemed so eager to give you advice, that you thought they just wanted to seem important, not because they cared about you?

How can you tell the difference?

What is the danger of considering yourself an expert in a given area?

What if you knew you had no clue what to do? What good is that?

Who is able to be taught? The proud person or the clueless person?

Those who are teachable are more useful to God than the ‘so-called experts’

1 Corinthians
(1:27) But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. (1:28) He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, (1:29) so that no one may boast before him. (1:30) It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (1:31) Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”°

As we learn to live wisely, how do we stay teachable? Don’t take credit for it- Thank God for His success in you. True wisdom recognises it’s source.

Proverbs
(26:12) Do you see a man wise in his own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
