Discussion: Friends

What is a friend?

Who has ever had a friend gossip about them or betray them?

Have you ever done it?

If somebody does that, can they still be your friend? What Happens to the relationship?

Using that illustration, what happens when we claim to ‘be’* something, but have evidence that would prove otherwise?
(*’be’ -Friend, good worker, good student, christian, etc.)

Is it possible to be hypocritical & not know it? Do you want someone to tell you, or would you rather go on with it? How should you respond if someone tells you?

Psalm 15-
” LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken.”

Integrity: Doing what’s right when no one is looking & doing what’s right when everyone’s looking & disapproves.

Think about your friendships, how you act around diddierent people, your words, myspace- Who are you?
