Discussion: Grace

Have you ever heard the saying ‘what goes around comes around’?

What does that mean?

What is Karma?

Do we always get what we deserve, good or bad?

What is grace?

Galatians 6:7-9 (NIV)
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. [8] The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. [9] Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

If our goal is to please ourselves, we will face consequences. Maybe not immediately, but eventually.

If we change our life and decide to live to please the Spirit, does God forgive the past?

Does being forgiven, and changing your ways remove consequences?

A lot of people talk about Karma. Where there is grace, Karma is removed. But if we live a life of separation from God, there are consequences- earthly and eternal. A life lived for the Spirit of God reaps eternal life, and earthly benefits too 🙂
