Ezekiel 24

Reading Ezekiel 24 for Monday, July 25th. God gives Ezekiel a parable to share about boiled meat, being cooked and the copper pot overheated. Then Ezekiel’s wife dies and God asks Ezekiel not to follow the normal custom of mourning as a sign to the people.

Warning: graphic descriptions of sex and violence are depicted in this chapter.  Reading Ezekiel 23 for Saturday, July 23rd.  God brings destruction on two lewd sisters who were prostitutes, idolaters and murderers of their own children.  Update: They actually are a graphically depicted metaphor for two increasingly unfaithful cities: Samaria and Jerusalem.

Ezekiel 4

Reading Ezekiel 4 for Friday, July 1st. God asks Ezekiel to lay down on each side and drink specific amounts of water and to cook food over human excrement to get the attention of Jerusalem to listen to a prophecy. Then He edits his request to substitute the prescribed fuel with cow manure.
