Today I read 1 Samuel 29 where David was excluded from a battle against the Israelites because we was not trusted by the king’s allies. I also read Acts 11-15 in the NLT to keep up with my local church’s current reading plan. Peter successfully explained his vision and reasoning to the Jews who questioned him about speaking and eating with gentiles, and the church was convinced that gentiles were not required to be circumcised to be accepted as brothers, but they still had to abide by the existing laws about not eating blood, food sacrificed to idols, strangled food, and also to avoid sexual immorality.
