Today I read 2 Kings 25:

Zedekiah’s kingdom was overtaken by the Babylonians and after he was captured, his sons were all killed in front of him, then his eyes were gouged out and he was shackled and taken to Babylon. Then all of the gold and other valuable items were taken from the temple and most of the people were taken away into captivity. The poorest people were left to take care of the land. Later on, Babylon got a new king, who released Jehoiachin and was kind to him, letting him eat at his table with him.
