Discussion: Responsibility

How have you messed up before?

What decisions made it easy to mess up?

Were you confronted about it?

Did you point blame elsewhere?

Why is it hard to accept legitimate blame?

How can one avoid embarrassing failures?

"The man of integrity walks securely,
but he who takes crooked paths will be found out."-Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)

What is integrity anyways?

in·teg·ri·ty (n-tgr-t)
n.
1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.
2. The state of being unimpaired; soundness.
3. The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.

What is a person with integrity like?

How can we get that way?

How long does it take to get integrity?

Responsibility is vital in having integrity. It isn't being perfect, it is never changing your mind about what's right. It is being honest about where you (are and have been) wrong, regardless of your surroundings.

David, of the Bible did not avoid his responsibility when he failed, he sought God immediately.

Psalm 51:4 "Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge."

I recommend reading all of Psalm 51 tonight.
