Today I read 1 Samuel 12. Samuel asked the people if he had done anything wrong or stolen anything from them. They confirmed that he had not. Samuel then reminded the people that they had sinned by asking God for a king. The people acknowledged that they had sinned by asking for a king and pleaded for Samuel to ask God for mercy and to not kill them for their sins.
